Knightswood Community SCIO (SCIO) manages and operates Knightswood Community Centre (KCC) for and on behalf of the people of Knightswood. It works to strengthen Knightswood sense of community through the provision and programming of affordable and social, cultural, recreational, educational, and health and fitness services and facilities. Its goal is for Knightswood Community Centre to be clearly identified and truly recognised as the centre of the community in Knightswood.
Küche is a social business which creates food-led events in collaboration with multicultural cooks. Our overall mission is to promote integration, celebrate minority cuisines and other cultures, as well as well as create empowering work opportunities for refugee and other marginalised diasporic cooks.
Maryhill Burgh Halls Trust
Maryhill Burgh Halls Trust owns and manages the Burgh Halls. We are a registered Scottish Charity and Company limited by guarantee. Any profits we make go back into running and maintaining the Burgh Halls building for future generations.
The Pearce Institute
The Pearce Institute opened in 1906, providing community halls and recreation rooms to the people of Govan. It was designed in the popular Edwardian Renaissance style by Sir Robert Rowand Anderson. The façade is richly decorated with sculpture, topped by a model of a fully-rigged galleon.
Whiteinch Centre Ltd
The Whiteinch Community Centre was developed in response to the local need for an affordable, modern community facility. The Centre has been operating for over 10 years and is owned by Whiteinch Community Association (WCA) on behalf of the local community.
