Music Broth is Scotland’s Loudest Library social enterprise with charitable status (SC048299). Our musical instrument sharing library hub and accompanying workshops and volunteering opportunities improve access to musical instruments and equipment for everyone by removing barriers to, and creating more opportunities for, accessing music learning and playing through our unique shared resource. Music and music learning has demonstrable benefit across many areas of life; education, community connectedness, mental health and wellbeing.

Our membership scheme offers an affordable alternative for individuals, families, organisations and bands. Our library brings people together, increase wellbeing and skills in music playing, instrument repair and maintenance. We increase use and instil value back into second-hand, unused musical instruments providing an accessible library catalogue of 3500+ items available throughout Scotland. We reduce waste and carbon footprint of the music scene, saving equipment from landfill, reducing purchase of new equipment with associated embodied carbon, supporting the sharing and circular economy, net zero and low carbon modes of transportation.
