Good Morning Service

Good Morning Service's telephone befriending and alert service is both life-saving and life-enhancing. Older people are connected, safer and valued – 365 days a year. “Talking has helped me more, because medication, you become immune to it. I’ve found talking is the best therapy.” Albert, 68 years. “Good Morning are a life-saver. Mum would’ve been lying there til tomorrow if they hadn’t called me this morning.” Daughter of member. Benefits to members: 1 Feel safer knowing that potential health problems are alerted to when someone fails to answer their Good Morning Call, 2 Get emergency practical help when needed, 3 Are listened to, feel valued by 'friends on the phone', 4 Are connected into our Good Morning community and in turn to the wider community. We also pass on warnings about bogus callers from Police Scotland, have monthly Good Afternoon Get-together social outings and a monthly newsletter packed with age relevant info, readers poems and recipes. 'My life has inevitably slowed down, but Good Morning has helped me feel connected to life as it used to be. My children live abroad, old friends are mostly no longer alive and so I find Good Morning has opened up a lovely new world for me.' Dorothy, 86. Our motto: Being heard is akin to be loved. Our members are - and feel – connected, safer and valued.
