Theatre Nemo is set up to give a voice to social issues, especially mental health. We do this through the arts. Theatre Nemo plays a valuable part in the lives of those it has touched. We actively encourage people with mental health issues and carers to take part.
Our aim is to break down stigma and to give people a voice, and our experience so far has shown it is a powerful and truly worthwhile means of stimulation. Theatre Nemo believes in the power of people. That is the ethos that underlines all our work in the field of those with social and mental health issues. The organisation has grown both in quality of reputation and provision in the 14 years since inception which can be evidenced by the number of Awards and recognition it has received from a variety of external organisations.
The people who use our service are people of any age who require support due to suffering mental ill health or experiencing a time of elevated stress or anxiety due to their current situation. All workshops are designed to support the participants by focusing on personal development, communication skills and gaining confidence within a social context. All of the services we provide are centred on improving the lives of our beneficiaries through empowerment, confidence building and skills attainment. These outcomes are essential first steps for many people looking to enter employment.
