YouthVIP and Social Enterprise Scotland are hosting an online workshop for SES members on young volunteer engagement.
This workshop will benefit organisations who already work with young volunteers, want to explore the option of taking on young volunteers in the future and/or are simply interested in seeing the value that young volunteers can add to their work. Share experiences, challenges and perspectives, meet peers also looking to develop their youth volunteering practice, and learn new approaches to engaging young volunteers.
Attendees will take a look at best practice around recruiting, retaining, and developing young volunteers as well as examining the important structural aspects around safeguarding and compliance. You will also take the time to consider the motivations and drive for young people in volunteering, which will allow you to bring this into your own environment to enhance the likelihood of young people volunteering, and staying, to support your cause.
YouthVIP is a partnership programme delivered by three third sector organisations in Scotland; Volunteering Matters, Young Scot and YouthLink Scotland. They are shaped and informed by a volunteer panel of young people who help guide their priorities in creating more sustainable and inclusive volunteering opportunities for young people across Scotland.
