Pre-Modern Apprenticeship Program from Radiant and Brighter

Radiant and Brighter are running a Pre-Modern Apprenticeship program starting on the 31st October for 16-24 year olds from Black Minority Ethnic communities.

The 8 week program will include interview expectations and tips. Mentorship will be provided to the participants to support them to understand the sector that they are interested in and prepare them for a Modern Apprenticeship. They will meet with employers and will attend the training on Wednesdays for 2 hours for the 8 weeks. The aim is to have the candidates ready to start Modern Apprenticeships when the training is completed. Transport will be provided to the participants during the training.

Pioneer Mutual Credit Union’s Ethical Loans Recognised in Parliament

Pioneer Mutual meet with Tom Arthur MSP earlier this month and where presented with an Early Day Motion, which congratulated them on their work in the community and their ethical loans; which ensure that wealth is retained in the community rather than going to high interest payday lenders.

GWR announce Wood Unlimited Short Course!

Glasgow Wood Recycling is pleased to announce the launch of our new Wood Unlimited short course starting on Monday 5th November.

The regular 2 day Wood Unlimited course will continue as usual with the next one starting on the 13th November. The new course will serve as a gentle introduction to routine activity and a stepping stone to more structured course and activities. Wood Unlimited programmes are aimed at people experiencing social isolation as a means of establishing routine, giving participants a structure to their week and helping them to learn new skills in a safe and welcoming environment. The new short course will give us the opportunity to work with people who, for whatever reason are not ready or able to make the commitment to the full 2 day Wood Unlimited course. This course has been developed in response to the needs of the people referred to the Wood Unlimited 2 day courses where although keen to participate, some people were unable to make the commitment to 2 full days of activity each week.
