Congratulations to GSEN member Lingo Flamingo (Robbie Norval) in being awarded inclusion in the UK Social Entrepreneur Index, a celebration of entrepreneurs running businesses with social purposes, with the aim of providing recognition for social entrepreneurs, act as a benchmark for good practice and inspire the next generation. Robbie was one of four Scots on the 2019 Index.

Sage UK (the accountancy software company) have created an online assessment tool to help businesses understand and access the Government financial support they may be eligible for. Answer around eight quick, targeted questions about your circumstances to see a summary of the various measures which may be available to you, and links to the specific guidance and application forms. The assessment tool will be updated as new measures are introduced.

We would like to draw your attention to some phising emails that are being sent pretending to have come from HMRC regarding Tax Rebates/Refunds; some make direct references to refunds due to Coronavirus. Please do not click links in any emails, instead contact HMRC using another direct method of contact.

Chancellor Considers Wage Subsidy Plan

The Chancellor is to announce later today a programme, possibly for three months which will protect jobs. One proposal under discussion is for the UK to follow the lead of countries such as Denmark, where the government has promised to cover 75% of salaries at private companies for three months, if they promise not to let staff go.
