Social Enterprise & Community Cafe Activity - SURVEY

SENSCOT have recently been working with NHS Health Scotland to explore the role that community café activity plays within social enterprise.

In partnership with Aberdeen SEN, Scottish Borders Social Enterprise Chamber, and ourselves they hosted several discussion sessions to explore this in more detail.

Emerging from all three sessions was a clear ask to facilitate the sharing of lessons learned from social enterprises, including what has and hasn’t worked and how to overcome or avoid common challenges.

In taking this forward they’re inviting all social enterprise with experience in this area to share their learning through this very short survey. They are keen to hear from social enterprise in all areas of Scotland.

The responses provided will inform a series of information sheets we’re developing on the following community cafe scenarios social enterprises can relate to:

  • Providing a community café for another organisation
  • Bringing in an external provider to operate a café within your premises
  • Having a space available and considering using it for a community café
  • Setting up a community café from scratch
  • Currently providing community café activity but it’s not sustainable
