This grants programme was established to empower people to create strong and resilient communities across Scotland. The Fund wants to fund work that is 'people-led, strengths-based and connected'.
Community-led organisations with an open membership and a social purpose can apply for grants of £10,000 to £1 million for between one and five years.
The funding is to acquire and/or develop assets that are largely based in, and developed by, defined local geographic communities. These can be physical assets such as buildings or pieces of land but may also include other types of asset such as renewable energy opportunities.
The funding can be used for revenue costs (salaries and revenue), capital costs (building or refurbishment), and the cost of acquiring an asset.
The programme can fund up to 100% of activity costs including staff, training, volunteer expenses, equipment, premises costs, evaluation and overheads.
Development funding is available to help carry out the work needed to develop the application and complete the capital check list. The funding can be used to pay for the design team and to carry out other activities such as options appraisals or technical surveys.
