Eat Well Age Well is a nationwide project in Scotland which focuses on the prevention, detection and treatment of under-nourished older adults in the community. Our Small Ideas, Big Impact fund offers grants between £50 to £5000 for ideas which will help support older people with access to food and to eat well.To date we have funded 23 projects across Scotland, and are really keen to connect and encourage more local communities to share their ideas.
The aim of the Small Ideas Big Impact grant: We want to encourage people across Scotland to help us in our quest to reduce the number of older people who are at risk of becoming malnourished or are already malnourished. There is currently a lack of evidence for around malnutrition in the community so we want projects that can make a difference and that will generate evidence to influence policy around malnutrition and hydration.
We expect the things that we fund will have added benefits for older people too, and we’d like you to tell us if the activities you plan will help address any of the risk factors below:
- Reducing isolation/loneliness,
- Support access to food and drink
- Support mental wellbeing
