The Ofgem Energy Redress Scheme distributes voluntary payments from energy companies that have breached rules to charities and community groups, funding projects that support consumers, particularly those in vulnerable situations, and promote energy efficiency/innovation.
Managed by the Energy Saving Trust, it supports initiatives like energy advice, fuel vouchers, and carbon emission reductions, often during cost-of-living crises.
Currently, registered charities, community interest companies, co-operative societies and community benefit societies can apply for funds to deliver energy related projects that meet the scheme priorities and benefit people in England, Scotland and Wales.
Since 2018, the scheme has awarded over £206 million, to fund 761 projects across England, Scotland and Wales that support vulnerable energy customers and carbon emission reduction initiatives.
