Role: Finance Assistant
Hours: Full time (35 hours per week)
Salary: circa £ 20,000
Reporting to the Management Accountant, the Finance Assistant is a key member of the Wasps finance team. The primary purpose of the role is the provision of finance support for Wasps’ three group companies (Wasps Trust, Wasps Ltd and Wasps Creative Industries CIC). Wasps operates 19 buildings with studios rented to around 900 tenants across Scotland. Wasps Group has an annual turnover of approx. £2m and around 30,000 SAGE transactions per year.

Deaf Connections, formerly known as the Glasgow and West of Scotland Society for the Deaf, was founded in 1822 and is Scotland’s oldest charity for the Deaf.
We deliver specialist services to Deaf people across the West of Scotland, and are committed to enabling Deaf people to participate fully in the community to make equality and fairness a normal feature of their everyday lives.
In recent years the deaf and hard of hearing community have benefited most from what we have to offer. We are embarking on an exciting new range of initiatives. As the Gorbals and Laurieston communities continue to develop, we want to reach out and bring in a wider range of people and more diverse client base.
We want to celebrate and sustain our rich heritage – as a vital deaf and local community resource.
We want to develop partnerships with other organisations to use our building to help them better meet the needs of their deaf, deafened and HoH clients.
We want local groups and organisations to feel welcome and valued as part of our work to break down barriers between the hearing and deaf communities.
We are a limited company with charitable status. All Trustees are voluntary and have varying skills. All Trustees share the same common goal, and we are all very passionate about our roles and the work that we do for the Deaf Community in Glasgow and across the West of Scotland.
We are seeking additional Trustees to work alongside our deaf community with local community, business, finance and capital development expertise but we are open to any applications and all skill-sets that would benefit Deaf Connections.
We currently meet on a bi-monthly basis and the commitment required to join our Board would be up to 4 hours per month.
