Youdom Suya CIC is a trading social enterprise that uses food, culture, and community-led events to generate income while delivering measurable social impact. Our core trading activity centres on culturally authentic African barbecue (Suya), catering, pop-up food trading, and festival-based events. Revenue generated through public trading and commissioned activity is reinvested into community programmes, including youth engagement, employability pathways, skills development, and inclusive community meals. This blended model ensures financial sustainability while maintaining a strong social mission. Youdom Suya CIC has tested and refined its business model through regular trading, partnerships, and delivery across Glasgow and Edinburgh. We generate turnover through event sales, catering contracts, and collaborative programming, while developing long-term resilience by diversifying income streams, building repeat partnerships, and piloting scalable formats such as community kitchens, cultural food showcases, and themed fan-zone events. This approach reduces dependence on grant funding and supports sustainable growth.
