The Showroom Collective CIC is a Glasgow based community interest company creating welcoming, non judgemental spaces for people to connect, take part, and spend time together beyond traditional alcohol centred social culture. Our work is shaped by lived experience of how many community, cultural, and social activities effectively disappear after 5 pm, leaving people who do not drink, drink less, experience social anxiety, or feel excluded from pub centred life with very limited options for connection. This particularly affects people new to the city, people with caring or work commitments, and those who feel uncomfortable or unseen in conventional social settings. We develop and pilot evening activities that prioritise ease, choice, and emotional safety, offering spaces where people can arrive as they are, have a cuppa, take part in something meaningful, and leave without pressure. Our focus is on creating environments where participation does not depend on alcohol, confidence, or performing socially.
