Rooted Cycling CIC is a new cycling initiative for women of colour in Glasgow. It's an organisation that was born out of my own first-hand experience, as a cyclist and a black woman living in Glasgow who has experienced a lack of representation and the demand within my community to have an inclusive space that can encourage women of colour into recreational cycling. The charity aims to build an inclusive cycling community that showcases identity through gender, culture, and sport whilst promoting the benefits of health and wellbeing and community connection through the outdoors. The initiative also recognises that training and development opportunities are often compromised, and aims to adequately address gaps in access, confidence, and participation within cycling for this underrepresented community.
