Following feedback from their recent review of third-sector representation, GCVS are offering two training sessions to support current and prospective representatives.
Introduction to the Representative Role - 30 June | 10:00AM - 12:30PM | GCVS
This first 2 hour session is designed to support those who are new to the role or interested in becoming a representative, while also creating space for current reps to reflect on their experience and help shape how the role continues to develop.
This session will combine structured content with the opportunity for shared learning and discussion, including:
- An overview of the representative role in Glasgow
- The new Third Sector Representation Framework
- Top tips for effective representation
- The local landscape in Glasgow, including partnerships and networks
- Approaches to two-way communication with the sector
- Representing a collective voice, including managing and reflecting different perspectives
- Models of representation
- Opportunities to shape future training and support
Succeeding in Partnership Working - 22 July | 10:00AM - 12:30PM | GCVS
This 2 hour session is the second part of the programme and focuses on succeeding in partnership working- exploring how we can navigate partnership environments, influence effectively, and represent our sectors with confidence.
This session will combine structured content with the opportunity for shared learning and discussion, including:
- The Nolan Principles and their application in practice
- Managing conflicts of interest
- Overview of key frameworks such as the Fairer Scotland Duty and Public Sector Equality Duty
- Influencing decision-making in partnership settings
- An introduction to public sector procurement
- Approaches to evaluation and demonstrating impact
- Opportunities to share your own experience, insights, and tips
- Chance to connect and share experiences with current third sector representatives
