The UK Easy Read Standards are official, evidence-based rules for writing and designing accessible information so that people with learning disabilities can read and understand it.
Easy Read supports independence, access to information, inclusion and participation. It is a predictable, practical and trusted communication format for people with many different impairments and circumstances.
The UK Easy Read Standards were created by the UK Easy Read Standards Working Group, which Disability Equality Scotland helped to start in 2024.
