Status of Young Women in Scotland Survey
2 Oct 2026
The eight edition of The Young Women’s Movement Status of Young Women in Scotland survey is open now.
In the past, Status of Young Women in Scotland has explored young women’s human rights; access to healthcare; employment opportunities; body image and political engagement. This edition focuses on digital violence and its real-life impacts on young women in Scotland.
Digital violence refers to harmful behaviours that take place online or through technology and it is not separate from violence in the physical world. Online and offline violence against women and girls are deeply connected: they reinforce each other, and apps and digital tools are increasingly being weaponised to intensify abuse. At the same time, we know that digital spaces offer genuine opportunities for young women for connection, creativity, education, advocacy, and financial independence.
The survey is open to young women, trans women and non-binary people aged 16-30 who currently live in Scotland.
