Migrant Women Press Fellowship 2025–26

Migrant Women Press CIC is a non-profit, independent media organisation led by migrant women and women of colour. Their mission is to amplify underrepresented voices and build a more inclusive, representative media landscape.

This September, they are launching a six-month fellowship programme to support 10 women from migrant and racialised backgrounds in Scotland—including recent graduates, freelancers, and aspiring journalists. The fellowship will provide:

  • Expert-led workshops on fact-checking, trauma reporting, solutions journalism, carbon literacy, AI in journalism, and multimedia storytelling.

  • Mentorship with experienced journalists through one-to-one sessions and editorial support.

  • Paid publication opportunities (£440 per fellow) for in-depth, public-interest reporting.

  • A print and digital publication featuring fellows’ stories, tackling urgent issues such as education, health, employment, climate, politics, and representation in media.

  • A supportive, collaborative community of diverse women shaping the future of journalism.

The deadline for applications is 7 September 2025.
