Meet Our New Member: Crafting Change CIC

Crafting Change CIC is a Glasgow based social enterprise offering practical, trauma informed support that bridges the gap between crisis services and independent living.

Claire-Louise Coney is the founder and director of Crafting Change CIC, a Glasgow based social enterprise supporting people who have experienced trauma, poverty, social exclusion and difficult life circumstances to rebuild confidence, routine, self trust and practical life skills. Claire-Louise has worked in social care for over twenty years and is currently a Depute Service Manager in adult learning disability care.

Her work is lived experience led, trauma informed and grounded in practical tools people can use in everyday life. Through Crafting Change CIC, Claire-Louise is building a bridge between crisis services and independent living across Scotland.

The work of Crafting Change is built around practical, non clinical support. It does not replace therapy or crisis services. Instead, it gives people simple tools to rebuild safety, confidence, routine, connection and self trust through everyday actions, creative expression and practical life skills.

Crafting Change CIC exists to stand with people who have lived through trauma and help create a realistic route forward after crisis, where support is grounded, accessible and rooted in dignity.

The CREATE Programme™

The CREATE Programme™ is the core delivery model of Crafting Change CIC. It can be delivered as a one off three hour introductory workshop or as a ten week cohort programme for services, charities, councils, housing providers and NHS aligned partners.

CREATE stands for:

  • Check In: noticing what is happening in the body, mind and environment without judgement.
  • Reclaim: rebuilding a sense of choice, safety, identity and personal agency.
  • Express: using creative and practical activities to process, communicate and reconnect safely.
  • Align: bringing daily actions, boundaries and environments closer to the life the person wants to build.
  • Trust: strengthening self trust, relationships and confidence through small, repeatable actions.
  • Emerge: moving forward with practical tools, a stronger sense of self and a clearer route beyond crisis.

The programme is trauma informed, accessible and practical. It does not ask participants to share personal stories unless they choose to. It focuses on emotional regulation, confidence, self worth, routine, identity, safe environments and moving forward after trauma.

Crafting Change CIC is now looking to build commissioned partnerships across Scotland, particularly with councils, third sector organisations, housing services, women’s services, community organisations and NHS aligned partners.
