Celebrate Women's History Month with Protests and Suffragettes!

Thursday, 12th March | 6-8:15PM | Kinning Park Complex

Protests and Suffragettes are hosting an unforgettable and joyous evening of music, herstories, and inspiring conversations!

Their musical collaborator @docturnormul (aka Lorna MacBean) will be sharing new songs set to the Holloway Jingles – poems written by Suffragettes c1911. These incredible poems capture the struggle, strength and fight of the Suffragettes; all set to new music by Doctur Normul.

The Protests and Suffragettes team will also be speaking about Glasgow suffrage activists who also have musical connections, specifically Jessie Soga – a professional musician, expert fundraiser, and the only mixed-race Suffragette based in Glasgow (that we know of). The evening will be an unforgettable, joyous celebration of inspiring women who changed our world for the better, and is hosted in partnership with Kinning Park Complex.

The team will also be sharing their vision and goals for the Centenary of the Equal Franchise Act in 2028, and all of the projects they are currently planning to ramp up towards the Centenary.

Soup & Tea/Coffee will be provided.

The event is free but booking is highly recommended!

Book your spot here.
