Discover how small changes to the way we communicate can make workplace messages more accessible and inclusive for everyone.
Office moves, policy changes, events, service updates, training, or new opportunities- communication is at the heart of every workplace every day.
Yet, sending the same message across all your channels and platforms does not mean all your employees will experience it in the same way.
For example, one that works well in email format may not work as a Microsoft Teams message, where people are following multiple threads and feeds.
A poster designed for a noticeboard may lose some of its key messaging when adapted into a social media post.
Join Passion4Social and Disability Equality Scotland for a practical 60-minute webinar as we take one everyday workplace announcement and explore how the same message can be adapted for different audiences, communication channels and access needs.
Through authentic lived experience examples and practical demonstrations, we will show how accessibility can easily be built into communication from the very beginning, rather than treating it as an afterthought, or creating separate versions of your content for disabled colleagues.
Learn how small changes to language, structure, design and delivery can make information easier for everyone to find, understand and act on.
Participants will leave with:
- A better understanding of common accessibility barriers in everyday workplace communications
- Practical techniques for adapting one message across different audiences and communication channels
- Improvements they can immediately apply to their own communications
- A clearer understanding of how accessible communication benefits everyone
On the day we will cover:
- Common barriers in workplace communications, including email, digital content, social media and verbal presentations
- Ways to adapt a single message for different communication channels and audiences
- Practical examples, showing how to bake accessible design into your communications from day one
- An audience Q and A
