GSEN Network Meeting July 2025

24 Jul 2025

Starting at 11am

Hanover Street

July's Network Meeting is a Radical Walking Tour!

Join us to explore Glasgow’s refugee histories, across the world and around the city. From international solidarity campaigns to grassroots community action, refugees and asylum seekers have played key roles in the city’s cultural and political life in recent years. Learn about these struggles alongside histories stretching further back across the 20th century.

The Refugee histories walk starts in George Square; as the square is closed at the moment we'll meet at the pedestrianised section of Hanover Street and do a circuit via the City Chambers, then Nelson Mandela Place, down Buchanan St to La Pasionaria and a few other stops on the Broomielaw before ending at the side of the Squiggly bridge. This is a bit over one mile and will take us 1.5-2 hrs. Recommend that folks dress for the weather! ☔ or 🌞 TBC....
