Whilst many of us know that we are delivering great work in the community and changing lives on a daily basis, proving and evidencing this can be tricky! Whether it's lack of time, staff resource, tools and systems or just knowing where to start, managing your monitoring, evaluation and learning process is a daunting task. Nevertheless, it's increasingly important to be able to collect insightful data on your work, show that you are achieving your desired outcomes and report back to trustees, funders, local authorities, partners and stakeholders.
We have partnered up with Upshot to shed light on this area. Upshot is a social enterprise with a mission to help any non-profit organisation to manage, monitor and evidence the amazing work they do in their communities. They provide a range of consultancy services, alongside a simple-to-use online platform for data collection and reporting.
In this free, 2-hour, introductory workshop we will start to:
Understand what Impact Measurement is and the basic principles of MEL
Appreciate why data is important and what it can do for you
Understand the different terminology used
Learn the difference between outputs and outcomes
Delve into creating MEL plans
Look at the different kinds of data and sources
Tools for data collection, management and reporting
Telling data-driven stories
Think about data driven cultures
There will also be a chance to ask questions and discuss this topic with your peers!
